Also because I was out of town for work last week and eating out everyday, I also gained since my last weigh-in, though I am still down from my starting weight. So to put it to the numbers, I am up 0.54% from two weeks ago, but I have lost 0.58% overall.

I have been successful losing weight while traveling in the past; however it takes a lot of planning and discipline. You can go to the grocery store and stock your hotel fridge with good food, instead of eating out all the time. Even a pretty good breakfast. You can cook Egg Beaters in the microwave. If you do eat out, you can usually find reasonable meals and ask for the kids portion or have the waiter put half of your plate in a doggy bag right away. It can be done. One of the other factors last week was that I was working long hours, which resulted in mostly fast food, and snacking on crap people brought into the office, etc. Anyway, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it.Journey Into...https://www.blogger.com/profile/15134160667747640028noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2487651032830668930.post-66354259882982420312014-02-26T14:20:33.510-06:002014-02-26T14:20:33.510-06:00So, I am now 1kg (2.2 pounds) heavier than when I ...So, I am now 1kg (2.2 pounds) heavier than when I BEGAN. I'm 3kg (7 pounds) heavier than lightest weight, three weeks ago.

So I have failed so far.

Exactly the same situation as Big. I walk into the shop with a grocery list of healthy food, then I walk out with a big bag of crisps and eat asap. I was back in the UK for a job interview and eating out in restaurants rather than home cooked foods, but that is only part of the problem.

Not sure how to fix it, and even if I do fix it for a few months, I don't know if I can make the change permanently.

Jeremyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01212459948708071836noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2487651032830668930.post-59595738159248171582014-02-26T13:56:29.439-06:002014-02-26T13:56:29.439-06:00Before I get into how I did, I wanted to say I am ...Before I get into how I did, I wanted to say I am totally, 100% sympathetic. I had to quit my sugar addiction recently. It's real, it's an addiction, and it's awful. I find that when I do indulge my cravings for sugar in something cheap (like packaged cookies) I feel unsatisfied and must eat more and more and more. If, however, I get something that has real ingredients, like quality chocolate, I can eat less and feel satisfied. I am in the camp of "if I buy it, I will eat it, so I'd be better off not buying it" even on the days when I feel like I deserve a treat. Breaking that addiction is super hard, and we are all here to help and support you. I usually have almonds and dried fruit for a snack, though it does take some mental adjustment to not getting a sugar burst as my snack. Have you tried using a food journal? I like SparkPeople, but obviously that's not for everyone, and I know it's not always enough to just hold yourself accountable with food.

Anyway. This week I did really well, I lost 1.4 pounds (0.94%; total 1.8lb lost). I got in a few miles but I think most of the exercise I got was from installing new floors in our dining room. Hot damn. That was a lot of work. But over all I am pleased with how things are going, and I've run/walked (mostly walked) 20 miles this year so far, which is about half of what I did all of last year, so that's positive :-).
