I still thought it ...Yeah, Rish, you're right. I still thought it was something like one out of ten when I started to write the post. I thought I ought to check the facts, so I did an internet search, and found that I'd inflated that number quite a bit.

It's not such an impending doom type situation when it's only one out of a hundred, but still that's a damn lot of kids with autism. When you consider that there's about 4 million kids born every year in the USA, that's 40,000 autistic kids each year. Enough to make a pretty well populated town.

But the article I found on the internet said that they had to revise their idea that it was more like one in every one hundred and fifty kids. So that's a significant jump. What if it's one in fifty in ten years? One in ten in twenty years, one in five in thirty, and so forth. It still kind of scares me. What would happen to our society if even twenty percent of us couldn't care for ourselves completely? It could be a serious problem. Makes good fodder for a Sci-fi story anyway.Big Anklevichhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09436070868726323659noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2487651032830668930.post-91705955159804647042010-05-29T14:04:00.016-05:002010-05-29T14:04:00.016-05:00Just don't blame vaccines.Just don't blame vaccines.Bryanhttp://www.fullcastpodcast.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2487651032830668930.post-6831469088574723622010-05-29T12:25:38.336-05:002010-05-29T12:25:38.336-05:00Dude, I'm fairly sure you said that the report...Dude, I'm fairly sure you said that the report said it already IS one out of ten kids. If you recall, I started screaming and throwing things, refusing to believe the statistics were true . . . until Father McIntyre asked me to leave the funeral service.Rish Outfieldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16126627112516914578noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2487651032830668930.post-83015594203453109862010-05-29T05:00:17.339-05:002010-05-29T05:00:17.339-05:00If you have any questions about dealing with them ...If you have any questions about dealing with them in a classroom, I'm here.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
