Nine days. So cool. How long will I be able to keep this up. Hopefully forever. Anywho...
Here's my food for today. I started the day with a shake for breakfast instead of the omelette today.
My usual snack, protein, fats, carbs.
My lunch was a little unusual. I went to grab something to take with me for lunch this morning and found there to be few leftovers. My wife had told me that there were a bunch more meatballs in the freezer, but I found that she was mistaken. I had enough meatballs for one meal, not for two. So, I searched high and low, and the best I could find was some leftover taco meat. I took some cheese to go on top of it, and made do with that. I did eat three of the meatballs from the bunch that was for my dinner at lunchtime, trying to even out the food supply between my lunch and dinner. Also, I found we were out of lettuce, so I didn't make my big salad. Instead, I took a bunch of green beans. Then there was the mixed nuts, as always.
Snack #2 was the same as ever.
Dinner was the rest of the green beans, nuts, a little bit of asparagus leftover from what my family ate yesterday, and the rest of the meatballs. There were actually eight of them, but I ate one before I remembered that I had to photograph them first.
When I arrived home, my daughter had her gumball machine that she'd received for her birthday filled with a bunch of jelly beans she'd bought. I shouldn't have eaten any, because they are purely empty calories, and terrible for weight loss, especially late at night, but I did. At least it wasn't too many, right?

Daily Food Report #8
Still getting lazy with the pictures. Luckily, I'm eating basically the same thing each day. So, this is actually the omelette I ate yesterday, but we'll let it represent the one I ate today which was pretty much exactly the same.
Had my same snack as every day, this is a real picture from today though.
Lunch was the same chicken thigh that I used as my picture yesterday, since I forgot to take pictures of my thighs I actually ate then. Plus my usual salad and serving of almonds.
Snack. Same fruit, cheese, and almonds.
Dinner. The last of that cubed ham I had last week and some almonds. I also finally finished off my salad at dinner time.
I was still hungry when I got home from work, so I had an extra serving of mixed nuts as a third snack. Not supposed to, but I don't think it was too bad.

Weigh-In Day #4 and Daily Food Report #7
It's now a full week that I've been reporting to you about every single morsel I eat. I'm getting forgetful sometimes. I was worse yesterday. And when it comes to food, if you don't take a picture of it in time, well, it's too late. As the old saying goes: you can't have your cake and eat it too.
Anyway, here's my report for Tuesday, March 4th.
Breakfast this morning had a twist, I added some sliced avacado to the top of my usual omelette. Apparently, unbeknownst to me, my wife had bought a bunch of avocados last week, and they had just reached that perfectly ripe stage.
My usual snack was changed up with the replacement of the lunch meat for the cheese stick. Wooo! Gotta live a little while you're alive, am I right?
Okay, this is a picture of the same kind of chicken thigh that I had for lunch. It's not the chicken I had for lunch though, because I forgot to take a picture of it.
I did remember to get a picture of the almonds and salad though.
And the snack...almonds and cheese stick and...
Mango, although if you look closely at it, you'll see a bunch of brown spots in it, so I didn't eat it all...some of it wasn't good to eat anymore. What a sad thing, huh? I love mango so much, and it sucked to throw some of it out like that.
Now, here's that same picture of the chicken thigh. I had another one of them for dinner. I meant to take a picture of my dinner chicken, and use it for lunch. But I forgot again. So, this picture I took when I got home. We had one of those chicken thighs left. I'll be having it for lunch tomorrow.
So, that's my food report. I'm getting a little slipshod in my reporting. I keep forgetting to take pictures. That's not good. If I didn't eat the same freaking thing every day, I would not be able to remember what I'd eaten. And if I'd eaten some little cheaty snack and forgotten to take a picture of it, I might have forgotten about it altogether and failed to report it. At least this early on, I wouldn't forget something like that.
Anyhow, this thing is working really, really well. It's been one week, and I've been, for all intents and purposes, perfect.
Has it payed off? Well, last week, when I proposed this whole thing, I was too ashamed to report my weight, because it went up from the week before. Hell, it was up from even the weight I reported in the beginning. Last week I weighed 279.8. On the first day of this whole thing I weighed:
So, that was even one pound up from from that. But today, I weigh:
Yes, that's right. In one week of being good, I have managed to lose more than ten pounds, and now I am down just short of ten pounds from what I began this thing at weeks ago.
I don't expect this breakneck pace to keep up for too much longer, because it just never does. The first week is always the easiest, the weight seems to fall off. Then the later weeks it's chipping away with with a hammer and chisel it gets so slow. But I've gotten the start that I needed to get excited. I'm feeling like it's pretty much guaranteed that that skinny old me will be back.
I found this picture of me from that same era that I've been talking about all along.
I've printed it, and hung it by my mirror. I've also made it my phone's wallpaper. I made it the wallpaper on my computer at work too, but I share that computer, and one of the douches I share it with decided he had to change the wallpaper to something else. Oh well. As long as I see it pretty often, I'm fine.
I feel, after this difficult yet wonderful week, that I will be that guy again, with certainty. Don't let me ever quit reporting my food to you until I've reached my goal. It works better than I ever thought possible.

Daily Food Report #6
I'm sorry I'm so late for today. I guess I'm getting a little lax. As you will see from today's report.
This was my breakfast. My usual omelette.
My snack, pretty much the same as always.
My lunch, which included my usual salad, the usual serving of almonds you see below, then a breaded pork chop...the rest of the leftovers that I had some of on Friday...as well as a few wilty strands of asparagus.
My snack again. Basically the same.
Now, here's where the laxness comes in. I had another (the final one) of those breaded pork chops for dinner, but I forgot to take a picture of it. And I didn't even realize that I forgot. I haven't even quite made it a week, and I'm getting forgetful. That's not good. Hopefully this will not become a habit.
Lastly, on my way home, I stopped and bought some mixed nuts from the store, so that I wouldn't have to eat peanut butter to get in my healthy fats on the weekend. I had a handful of them to go along with my pork chop and finish off my dinner.
I was good, besides my forgetfulness, all day today. This is really going to work. Can't wait to weight myself tomorrow and tell you guys how well it has worked.

Daily Food Report #5
I didn't eat very well yesterday in a couple of different ways. I ate things I shouldn't have, and I didn't eat enough of what I should have. But anyway, I started out the day with something I shouldn't have...this bowl of carb-o-licious cereal. The box was almost gone, so I, being a dad, finished it off, because I knew it would sit in the pantry mostly empty for all eternity if I did not.
It was a pretty small amount of cereal at least. I don't know how healthy Honey Bunches of Oats are, but it doesn't matter, because it's not in my diet. Naughty.
When it's the weekend, I tend to forget to eat when I should...or eat all the time, but at least this reporting the prevented that...so I didn't eat a snack. Instead, I had this for lunch:
That's lunch meat and cheese rolled up together in a sort of a wrap-type thing. I also made my salad, which was the one really good thing I did yesterday. I usually don't do that on weekends, so this was a major victory.
My finger got in front of the lens, and totally ruined the picture. That's why it's so dark...and that's after fixing it up with a brightness boost. Next, still for lunch was this spoonful of peanut butter.
I didn't have any almonds at home, so I needed some healthy fats. Peanut butter is not the best choice, since it's almost always got sugar in it, and also it's pretty fatty. But it's what I had. Then I ate this:
That was not good. That is basically a candy bar. Carbs covered in chocolate. Weee! I was itching for a treat, and I guess I could have done worse. I still managed to avoid the chocolate chip cookies that were in our home all weekend long, so that's a big victory.
I finished the day with a bunch of chicken nuggets. My wife had worked Sunday morning, so she didn't want to cook anything. I stepped in, like the dashing man that I am, and saved the day, making a frozen pizza for the kids, and nuggets for me. I actually ate closer to twelve of them. After I took the picture, I was given the rest of them to finish off.
So, there you go. Not great, but not disastrous. The salad was a good thing, because it took me all day to finish it off. It wasn't until after dinner that I finally polished off the last of it, and it kept me...mostly...out of the naughty stuff.

Daily Food Report #4
I decided to have a different breakfast today, since it was Saturday, and I had a little more time. So, I combined these ingredients...a container of Greek yogurt, a scoop of protein powder, a cup of whole milk, some frozen strawberries, and a bunch of spinach...
And blended it into a protein shake.
My snack was pretty similar to my usual snack...blackberries, and deli-sliced roast beef...but it was missing the usual almonds, because I've been keeping those at work, and I forgot to bring them home.
Lunch was leftover curry chicken with a very small amount of rice...my wife gave me what was left of her portion, which is where the rice came from. I try to avoid white rice if I can.
The kids were all eating from the cereal box, and I took a handful and ate it. Bummer, I needed to take a picture and report it now.
My wife wanted to go out to eat together, even though she had to work the next morning...early the next morning. So, we went to this place here in town that does panini sandwiches, soups, and salads. I looked online to find out how many calories things would have, and figured I could get by okay, especially since I'd eaten less for the rest of the day.
So, I had the honey bacon club sandwich and the mushroom bisque, it came with a section of french bread, which I ate with butter on it, and a chocolate covered strawberry. It was good stuff, although somewhere around 900 calories altogether.
Then my wife gave me her piece of bread.
I probably overdid it a little bit going to this place, but sometimes you gotta please the lady. I may not have lost weight today, but I don't think I gained any, so there's that. They can't all be winners.

Daily Food Report #3
Okay, so Friday is Pizza day, just like the Jonathan Coulton song says. My kids think the pizza that they get from the lunch ladies sucks though, so for several years, what we've done is buy a frozen pizza, and cook it Friday morning, and the kids take a couple of pieces of that to school. Well, with three kids and four quarters of the pizza, there was one quarter left over. Most of it I gave to the baby, after all he should get pizza day too, even if he's too little for school. But I did eat this much myself.
That's like half a piece. Then I had my real breakfast. I went to the grocery store Thursday night to beef up some of my usual foods. So, I know have some chopped green pepper to add to the chopped onions and mushrooms in my omelette. Of course there's the same egg and half cup of Reddi-egg, and the same piece of ham and piece of cheese. I think I might have been wrong yesterday when I said my breakfast is 200 calories. It's probably more like 250. Add the half slice of pizza, and it's probably 350 today.
Here is snack #1. Basically the same as what I ate yesterday. Deli-sliced roast beef, grapes, and almonds. But more grapes this time, because I packed them myself instead of letting my daughter dish me up a girl-sized portion.
Lunch was this pork chop, with asparagus...
My normal salad...
And of course a serving of almonds.
Snack #2 was the same as snack #1. I actually overdid it with the grapes. My bigger portion turned out to be huge. So, I saved half for snack #2 and never did eat the apple that I'd originally brought for snack #2.
I got home, and was sorely tempted by the chocolate chip cookies that my wife and kids had made, but, notice there's no picture of them here? That's right, I didn't partake. Instead, I just ate the curry chicken that my wife had made for dinner. It was so good. Have you ever noticed that food tastes at least ten times better when you are hungry? And I love this stuff normally.
And that's that. I didn't eat the rice that was supposed to go with it, because I didn't want the simple carbs. Those are supposed to be really bed when losing weight. Complex carbs are good, but white rice is not complex. I also didn't eat the naan bread that was supposed to go with it. I'm not sure if that stuff is complex carbs, but I doubt it.
This thing is working so well. Three days straight of perfect eating. It's been a long, long time since I did that. That's really exciting. And the scale says I'm doing a good job too. I'll let you know just how good when my official weigh-in comes on Wednesday.
