Christmas Creep

I saw some posts recently complaining about the Halloween creep...that being the fact that the Halloween season is expanding, creeping outward, and now we're starting to see things like costumes becoming available to buy in July. And, yeah, that's a little too early. However, look at what I saw the other day:

Yeah, those are the Hallmark Christmas ornaments. They've made an endcap of the things, and put them out in early August. What the heck guys? I might understand it if it was one of those stores like Hobby Lobby where they keep Christmas stuff out year round, but this is friggin' Walmart. Give us a break. Let's get through Back-to School, Labor Day, Halloween, and Thanksgiving first...or at least some of those, eh? I can even concede November to you. But isn't the day after Halloween good enough to open the Christmas season? Do we have to start in the middle of August? We've had a week straight of triple digit temperatures here in Houston, and you want us to start thinking of dashing through the snow in a one horse open sleigh?

I think not.
