It's a five year plan, and I've just made it to the end of month...two, I guess, although October was an extra month, so maybe it's just month one. Anyway, I'm here to report again on how things went this month, and to make a few promises as well.

Can you remind me the difference between a novel, novella, and novelette, please?
Way to go on new weight loss/fitness goals! I'm glad the pitting edema turned out to not be serious. Regarding your cough (because I work at a respiratory hospital and am involved in research meetings about this sort of thing, not because I'm a doctor), it might in all probability be related to your weight gain. Weight gain (especially significant weight gain) can cause reflux and aspiration of your stomach contents or even saliva into your airway, which can irritate the airway and generate a persistent cough. It may or may not wake you up at night while you are experiencing the reflux/aspiration, but there's a good chance that just losing the weight again will help. If not, get yourself a GI consult and see what they can do for you. (I know, more doctors, but it could be something serious and persistent that weight loss won't fix...) Good luck!
Hopefully this doesn't double comment...
Just casting a vote for writing every day, even if it's just 10 new words.
I know for me, if I skip a day and don't at least make some effort, it becomes harder to pick it back up again than it is to skip the next day too.
Just my opinion.
