My twelve-year-old daughter started watching "Dr. Who" on Netflix all on her own. She says it's a good show, but she was a little disturbed by their accents. When they said things like "Nigh'een" instead of "Nineteen" and so on.
Okay,
here's the confession that I have to make, and what makes this
occurrence so much more unexpected. I have never seen a single episode
of Dr. Who. Not one. My daughter has already seen more Dr. Who than I
have. I really have no idea what motivated her to watch it. The other
day, as we were looking through shows to pick a movie to watch, I did
say, "Should we watch Dr. Who?" when I came across it, but that was all.
Maybe she decided she needed to check it out based on that. I don't
know. But she surely didn't learn from my example.
