Storm going on outside right now is so loud and so fierce it woke me up at 2:30 in the morning, and made me nervous enough I couldn't go back to sleep. I had to check the basement to make sure it wasn't full of water. I'm kind of amazed it isn't, and I'm certain that somewhere down the street someone's basement is full of water. Hell, the rain was pounding so hard I'm amazed the roof could keep it all out. And the lightning and the thunder were so intense as to be almost completely constant. One thunderclap hadn't ended yet before the next one began.
