I'm still going. I got 731 words today. Did them nice and early too.
5,170 words gives me 34.47% of my goal of 15,000 for this month.
1/3 of the way there, and it's only the 8th of November, which definitely isn't 1/3 of the way through November.
My year-to-date number is less impressive.
7,542 puts me at 2.48% of the way to my goal.
Let me see...I'm on day 12 of this process. What percent of 365 is 12? Turns out it's 3.288% that's a larger number than 2.48%. So, I'm almost a full percent behind schedule on the year. I'm not worried, however, because I'll really kick it up a notch come next month when my goal rises to 1,000 words a day.
I just did a little more math, and it looks like I'd have to write 835 words a day to reach my goal. I haven't yet hit that threshold, but it won't be long. Soon, and for the rest of the year, I'll be writing above that level. If I keep it up for all eleven months that remain, I'll absolutely crush that goal. I could even hit 400,000 on the year.
Of course, I can't get ahead of myself. I've got to make it that far. Just last year I wrote 137,492 words on my way to attempting to outdo 2020, and then faltered and failed. So, I suppose it's important not to get too cocky. I've got to achieve it if I want to brag about it.
