Weigh-In Day #7 and Daily Food Report #28

I can't believe I've been doing this four weeks already.  Weird.  Who'd have thought that I'd have the stamina.  As long as I stick to it, though, it really works.

Anyway, yesterday for breakfast, I had my usual omelette.

Then I had my usual snack.

My lunch was one of the chicken thighs from Costco that I've been having now and then, plus my salad and some nuts.

And then I had another one of my usual snacks

Lastly, for dinner I had another one of them there chicken legs, the rest of my salad, and some more nuts.

Well, that wasn't quite lastly, because I did have this handful of M&M's when I went out to my car to go home:

Also, in the spirit of full disclosure, I picked a bunch of pepperonis off the pizza that I picked up on the way home for the kids to eat for dinner.  I did this while I was driving, though, so I didn't risk taking pictures.  I suppose that means that I shouldn't have eaten them at all, but I did.  I was naughty.  Probably about ten pepperonis and whatever cheese clung to the bottom of them, which was enough that my daughter complained, "what happened to the cheese," when I got home.  Bad Dad.

So, for the most part, I was really good both Monday and Tuesday.  It was in a desperate attempt to get myself at least back to where I started from on Wednesday of last week. On that day I weighed:

And this morning I weighed:

So, I guess you could say that I lost some weight this week.  0.4 lbs to be exact.  Although, despite the fact that our scale measures to the tenth of a pound, it's really not very exact.  I weighed myself again right after this one, and it said:

All I did was step down of the scale, and then step back on, and that's the difference it gave me, 1.2 lbs.  So, it's pretty hard to know for sure what I am at.  I guess we'll say that I am even from week to week.  Which is a success when it comes down to it, because I was terrible for a good portion of the time.  I'm going to try to be better this week, and hopefully, if I'm really good, I'll crack that 260 barrier, and be weighing in the 250's by next Wednesday.  That's my goal for the week.

So, Tena, Jeremy, Tobias, Marshal?  How did you guys do?  Better than me I hope.

  1. I am up again. I thought I was doing better with my eating while I was on the road last week (except when I ate pizza with Big and Rish), but the fact is I was eating out for breakfast, lunch and dinner, so it killed me. Plus I was drinking soda pop more than usual. I think I will have to quit pop cold turkey like Big did. It's hard because the company I work for stocks the fridge with pop for free. In the past, I have gone years without drinking pop, to the point where I didn't even like it, but I have fallen off the wagon. There is nothing good about pop, except for the taste, so starting now I will not drink it anymore. I am done. Sorry Pop, it's you, not me.

However, I can't blame all my woes on soda pop. I need to eat less in general and actually get some exercise. Here's to a better week.

Oh I almost forgot to post my percentages. I lost a NEGATIVE 0.64% for the week, which puts my overall weight loss at 0.63%. Pitiful!

  2. Hi Marshall! Keep trying, the soda thing is hard to kick. I have fortunately gotten to the point where I really don't like it so it's easy to avoid but it can be so hard to get to that point.

Yesterday when I weighed myself I was down again, to 143.6, which was 0.8 pounds below last week. However, my awesome husband made sausage yesterday (totally not a euphemism, I promise) so naturally, we had that for dinner, and the salt content put me back up to where I was last week. I'm going to count yesterday as my "official" weight, though. So that puts me at 5.2 pounds lost. I thought it would be more by now, but there it is. Total lost is 3.5%. But I've been kicking ass at getting my running/walking in, and I can now run almost a mile out of my 1.5 mile run with my dog(s). In the past week I've gotten in 11.3 miles, which is great. My shins have been sore (will these shin splints never heal completely?!) since my recent runs though, so I'm going to work on strengthening them a bit before I push too much more running.

I know I'm losing weight, I know I'm losing fat (the more important thing). My clothes fit better, I feel better and more energetic. I really, really, really need to stop slacking on weekends. I have got to keep tracking on Saturday and Sunday, because every time I don't I come off the weekend with a gain of a pound or two. I can usually lose it again by Wednesday but it's frustrating and probably not healthy to keep doing this.
